About Us
What Is Inclusionary?
Inclusionary is a website that aims to educate and communicate the key aspects of different ethnic cultures that make up Aotearoa to New Zealand born citizens who have not been properly introduced to their cultures and have been living westernized lifestyles.
Our website is an educational service that enables citizens to connect with their own cultures and others. We have found that a lot of Kiwi-born citizens are completely westernized due to their extreme exposure of western ideas such as the typical western schooling system.
Behind Inclusionary
Inclusionary was created when we found out that Kiwi-born citizens from different ethnic backgrounds often felt a sense of disconnection with their culture. Many people could not hold every day conversations in their mother language. Customs and traditions of every day living had become westernized in the way that they spoke, behaved, and learned.
We have found that because of such exposure, Kiwi-born citizens been struggling with their overall identity and do not know who they really are. Inclusionary hopes to solve this problem by giving Aotearoa’s citizens sufficient knowledge of their cultural background to feel a part of their ethnic groups and gain a sense of identity and belonging.

Our brand name, “Inclusionary” originated from the original definition of providing equal access to resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized, such as those belonging to other minority groups.
Our Team
Inclusionary’s team consists of 5 students from Tawa College based in Wellington, New Zealand. We are a diverse group of Year 13 students that come from different ethnic backgrounds.
The idea for Inclusionary was born when we found that not all of us could easily speak our native language, and wished that we knew more about our cultures.

Inclusionary is under the Young Enterprise Scheme of 2021 and is wholly a virtual business.
